When I turned nine, I was so excited for my birthday. I couldn’t wait to receive all the messages and well-wishes from my friends and family. I imagined my phone constantly buzzing with notifications, each one filled with love and heartfelt sentiments. However, as the day went on, I realized that the flood of greetings I was expecting never came. I started feeling disappointed and wondered if I did something wrong or if I didn’t deserve to be celebrated. But as I spent some time reflecting on the day, I came to a realization. The absence of external recognition doesn’t determine my worth or the significance of my special day. Birthdays are about more than just receiving wishes; they’re an opportunity to appreciate the love and joy that exists within me and to cherish the relationships and moments that truly matter. So, even though I didn’t receive many birthday congratulations, I am determined to make this year about self-love, growth, and creating unforgettable memories.
